This is an old tradition that many young couples don't even know about. Its roots trace back to Victorian times in England, though Stateside it's more common in Southern weddings. The idea behind the groom's cake is that it should be something fun and completely different than the wedding cake. While the primary cake is usually white or cream colored with a somewhat traditional look, the groom's cake can be bold and bright, in look and flavor. Pick a theme for the cake that your fiancé really likes, such as a particular sport, band, or type of car.
