Voting and posting on our guild thread
|

I was thinking about making voting for the legion and posting on wowlegacy's forum mandatory for certain promotions.
I can understand if some of you would see this action as unfair or unwise, but here are my reasons:
1: How entertaining our guild is depends partly on how many people are active.
2: How many people are active depends on either sheer number in the guild, or individual member's available time. Because I cannot control your schedules, the only thing I can affect is the number of people in the guild.
3: How many people are in the guild depends on the availability and willingness of potential players, being once again the population of the server, or something I cannot control.
4: The population of the server is at the very least affected by (if not controlled by) the server's rank as compared to the other server's ranks.
Therefore, in order to positively affect this guild, one course of action might be to raise our guild's standing.
This is why I believe voting should be at the very least considered as a part of a promotion. I understand no one should be forced to vote for something they do not wish to vote for. One could make the argument that I would not be forcing a member to vote, but the fact is that without voting (if it is made mandatory) a member would not be able to take full advantage of the great things this guild has to offer.
Concerning making a favorable post on legacy's forums for our guild...
It would be very helpful for the guild's image if its userbase took the time to say positive things on the forums. While the voting is more likely to be made requisite for certain promotions, this one is less so. I would hope it wouldn't be necessary to ask (and it really isn't, our guild is thriving), but it is possible that i would make this necessary, so i thought i would bring it up.

I believe this is fair. Everyone here should have gratitude and feel obligated to vote. The people that are putting on this server have taken time out of their lives to make sure we have a place to go everyday. I personally do give $20/month to make sure that this server survives. If you don't give anything, fine. The least you can do is vote. _________________ The animosity toward Nikkon stops now. The account has been locked. To me, It is more than fair. It gives everyone a voice which is vital for true communication.
mandatory voting also allows us to better gauge an outcome rather than revamping an ultimately disliked [outcome] later.

I find it fair because...

I find it fair because if just anyone is able to have any rank, than there will not be much order if someone we rarely know gets some high position, I think personally though that if someone has a high standard with the guild that they should get what they deserve, example... my officer position, you know how few people actually read the forums? I am not the only one. there's maybe 5-6 people who read the forums on any given day, Khul, Rud, Deth are a few, I don't know everyone who does but as I look over these posts, most of them are older than 1-2 months. how do I get 16 votes for a rank if there's only the usual guild actives on the forums? :s spam my vote link, sure. I might have to do that.

Well I think it's a good idea because the server does need our support, even tho they don't like getting off there asses and fixing shit, I think it would provide them with a proper incentive to get things up and running if they were in the top 5 again. Of course it would also mean the growth and betterment of our guild as a whole, more ppl = more guildies = more Legionnaire = more awesomeness = more ally stomping = the most important part, more fun. And I mean come on, they give us wow for free, the least we can do is vote once or twice a day.
As for organ's reply I believe khul meant voting for legacy as a requirement not voting for officer as that's already required. But as for that, the good thing about officer voting in our guild, while it would be nice if everyone participated on the forum, they can also send a mail to khul in game, saying something like: i vote for "insert name here" because he/she helped me a lot and didn't treat me like a noob" as a rough example.
But anyway, yes as I said Khul I agree that voting for legacy and posting on the legacy forum as well is a good idea. I still haven't been able to log onto the forum there tho, I'll try to figure that out again and start posting there as well. I keeps saying that email is already in use, so I may have to make a seperate email address or something, I'll figure it out. _________________ My name is Rudvich and I approve this message..............................................................I mean if I don't approve my own message, who else will?
